Health Screening
Health Screening
Health assessments aim to give an individual an understanding of their current health status and future health risks, as well as some tests designed to detect disease. Knowledge of future health risks will enable the individual to take appropriate steps to minimise the likelihood of developing illness. Early detection of some diseases enables earlier treatment and a better outcome.
Usually a health assessment consists of the completion of a detailed medical questionnaire, the performing of physiological and blood tests, and consultation with an experienced clinician. Additionally, specific tests recognised as being of benefit for disease detection may be included. These may depend on age and/or gender, e.g. mammography for women over the age of 40.
As part of the health assessment, the clinician will usually provide lifestyle advice and where necessary, information on the management of specific conditions, including onward referral to a specialist where appropriate.
In today’s challenging workplace environment, some companies view health screening as one of the key executive benefits and they are valued highly by qualifying employees. They can form part of a ‘wellness in the workplace’ programme and can help reduce future absences.
We have access to screening services which can be carried out either at a designated screening centre/hospital, or at a workplace location of your choosing. These can cost from as little as less than £200 per screen. A small cost for peace of mind.
A basic lifestyle screen can include:
- Height
- Weight
- BMI
- Waist : Hip Ratio
- Urinalysis
- Blood Pressure
- Pulse
- Peak Flow
- Cholesterol
Additional checks are included with the more comprehensive health screen options.
